This kitchen is brightly colored and looks fun, and there's a lot of detail in the various cooking elements. For example, your child can set the cooker knobs and timers, and they will make a noise when she does. You can see the racks inside the oven, or put the food into the refrigerator, and then wash up once the cooking is done.

The fact that it features Dora is a huge benefit over some other toy kitchens. If you have a child who adores the character, chances are she'll be asking for this kitchen in time for Christmas! The fact that Dora calls your child on the included cell phone to talk about what she's cooking is a cute bonus.

Note that there is some assembly required for this toy . Thankfully the instructions are easy to follow and it shouldn't take you too long before the kitchen is up and running. It's generally well constructed and should last long enough to be passed down to younger kids in future, though some parents have commented that the plastic could have been a little thicker.

To extend what your child can do with this toy kitchen, there are a couple of recipe packs available to buy separately: the apple pie and holiday cookies set. Each one of those comes with a recipe card that'll unlock new phrases in the kitchen, and the various pieces needed for the recipe. They cost around $11 each.

The recipes are easy to follow, especially with Dora's bilingual instructions, and the kit is suitable for kids aged 2 and above. Overall, however, the Dora Fiesta Favorites Kitchen set is great fun! It keeps kids occupied for long periods of time, especially when they play together to follow all of the recipes.
