One of the hottest movie vehicles Hollywood has ever created was the makeshift time machine in the 1985 blockbuster movie “Back to the Future” with Michael J. Fox. LEGO has launched a new set called the LEGO DeLorean Time Machine
Building Set, which lets you create
your own (non-working) time machine!

This set is a miniature replica of the real deal, and collectors and kids alike are going insane over this one. Back to the Future is one of those movies that kids who were teens upon its release are now watching with their own kids.

The LEGO DeLorean is actually three DeLoreans in one. You have the opportunity to build the original, and then modify it for parts two and three – the sequels to the movie.

The building blocks let you build a model car whose doors open. It includes two license plates that read OUTATIME and an extra engine and set of wheels. It even has a flux capacitor! But there’s something neat about this DeLorean, too.

As an inside joke with LEGO, the time display isn’t set to 1955 like it was in the movie. It’s set to 1958, which is when the first LEGO brick was patented – on January 28th.

In addition to the car in the LEGO DeLorean Time Machine Building Set, you also get Marty’s skateboard so he can zoom around town and get away from Biff Tannen.

The set also comes with two figures – Marty McFly (the character played by Michael J Fox), and Dr. Emmett Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd. Some have noticed that the characters don’t fit perfectly inside the car, but if you lean the seats back a bit, they fit just fine.

There are 401 pieces in this particular LEGO set. You might be one of the people who doesn’t want to play with the set, but instead wants to preserve it in your LEGO collection. You can store it in a nice case so that none of the small parts gets lost.

If you want to play with this LEGO DeLorean Time Machine Building Set, then you’ll be happy to know that the gull wing doors open just like a real DeLorean, but unlike a real car, the wheels fold up just like in the movie when Doc Brown takes off in his time machine at the end with Marty and Jennifer! You can build this LEGO set with ease using the instruction booklet and enjoy the Back to the Future booklet that comes with it, too.
